Behind the Teeling Distillery lies an area known as Blackpitts. In the past, this was Dublin’s industrial district, home to some of the city's largest malting houses. Naturally, peat was widely used for malting barley, and Blackpitts became known for its distinctive "aroma"—the classic smoky character that defines this Teeling whiskey.
The Teeling Blackpitts Big Smoke Cask Strength is a double-distilled peated single malt Irish whiskey, aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at cask strength (56.5% ABV), non-chill filtered, with a total of 8,400 bottles produced.

Aroma: The nose greets us with earthy peat smoke, followed by notes of burnt caramel, apple, cloves, hints of orange, and a touch of soot.
Taste: On the palate, the peat continues to accompany us, with layers of citrus, grilled pineapple, licorice, and caramel, with a light hint of lavender.
Finish: Long-lasting, smoky, with notes of burnt grass, toasted malt, and a touch of salt.
