Founded in 1830, Talisker was the first distillery on Skye to receive a license for distillation. Famous for its full-bodied, rich character and peppery finish, Talisker is a product of the coast and the sea, just like the clear blue waters that lap the western shores of the island.
The Talisker 8 Years Old is a peated single malt Scotch whisky aged for about 8 years in classic oak casks and finished in expertly reworked and hand-polished barrels using stone and water. Subsequently, the barrels were gently toasted to enhance fruity nuances and delicate hints of vanilla. This single malt was finally bottled in 2024 at its natural cask strength (58.7% ABV).

Color: Gold with amber hues.
Aroma: On the nose, it welcomes with Talisker’s classic maritime and smoky profile—seaweed, iodine, and vanilla—followed by salted caramel and citrus.
Taste: On the palate, it is enveloping with a good oiliness. Notes of salted caramel, grilled meat, licorice, barley malt, and pepper are well balanced by the smoke.
Finish: The finish is long, warm, and spicy, with notes of chili pepper, vanilla, and pear, while the peat smoke lingers tenaciously.
