The Smokehead Extra Rare is a premium whisky on Ian Macleod’s original 2006 release. Marketing Director Iain Weir describes it as follows: "Smokehead Extra Rare is the older sibling of the original edition; it’s a high-quality, heavily peated whisky from an Islay distillery." The distillery name hasn’t been revealed, though rumors suggest it could be Ardbeg or Lagavulin—after all, there aren’t many distilleries on the island.
