Scapa Glansa (40% - 70cl)
Scapa Glansa
If you're looking for a true island whisky without the excesses of peat, Glansa is the one to try. This single malt is aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in ex-peated whisky casks.

Founded in 1885 on the Orkney Islands, the Scapa distillery sets itself apart from Highland Park, the other Orkney distillery, by producing lighter and more floral whiskies. A key factor in this distinctiveness is the old wash still, originally from Glenburgie, which is one of only two remaining Lomond-style stills in all of Scotland.
Scapa Glansa is a no-age-statement single malt Scotch whisky, aged in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then finished in casks that previously held peated whisky. This finishing process adds a subtle smokiness to Glansa—an unusual characteristic for Scapa, but one that is definitely worth trying.
"Glansa" means "storm" in Old Norse, or more precisely, "storm-laden skies," and this bottling is a tribute to the dramatic contrast between the land of Orkney and the tempestuous waters of Scapa Flow.
