It's incredible to think that an English architect, arriving in Santa Fe for work, decided to stay and open a... distillery! This is the story of Colin Keegan, who, after arriving in the USA for work, bought a house in Santa Fe with a large orchard that soon produced far more apples than he actually needed. The solution? Cider! After this initial success, he decided to produce the distilled spirit he loved most, single malt Scotch whisky. At nearly 2,200 meters above sea level, Santa Fe Spirits is one of the highest distilleries in the world.
The Santa Fe 5 Years Old is a single malt whiskey made with 70% unpeated malted barley and 30% mesquite-smoked barley. This whiskey was aged for at least 5 years in an ex-bourbon oak cask before being bottled at its natural strength (65.7% ABV), non-chill filtered, and at its natural color in only 284 total bottles.
Label: Playing as Interbase (SS) is Stephen Julander, Head Distiller, holding a mesquite stick instead of a baseball bat.
