Founded by Annabel Thomas in 2013 and initially guided by the legendary Jim Swan, the distillery is located on the Morven peninsula, on the opposite shore of the Sound of Mull, in the Scottish Highlands. The name Nc'nean comes from the Gaelic "Neachneohain," meaning the Queen of Spirits.
Nc'nean Organic is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2017 using only organic barley, aged for at least 3 years in a mix of casks: 65% STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Recharred) red wine casks and 35% ex-bourbon casks, before being bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration and no added color, in a total of 5,040 bottles.
