Both American and European oak casks, seasoned with Oloroso sherry, contribute unique characteristics: the American oak imparts delicate vanilla notes, while the European oak adds the signature Macallan spices.
The Macallan 18 Years Old Double Cask is matured for 18 years in both European and American oak casks, all seasoned with Oloroso sherry, before being bottled at a classic 43% ABV and presented in its natural color.
