For hundreds of years, to increase their income, the small communities of the Isle of Arran produced their own spirit using small homemade artisanal stills. The whisky produced, known as "Arran Waters," was then smuggled from Lagg and sold on the Scottish mainland. Today, although legally, Lagg's legacy has been revived thanks to the distillery built in 2017 dedicated solely to the production of heavily peated single malt.
The Lagg Kilmory Edition is a heavily peated (50 ppm) single malt Scotch whisky. For this version, only Concerto barley was used, and aging was carried out solely in first-fill American white oak ex-bourbon casks. This whisky was finally bottled at a classic 46% ABV without added coloring and unchill-filtered.
