Kilkerran Heavily Peated is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. Kilkerran is the brand under which whiskies from Glengyle are released, a historic distillery that reopened in 2004 after decades of inactivity.
The Kilkerran Heavily Peated is characterized by a high level of peat, quite different from other releases from the distillery, which tend to be much less smoky. This whisky is part of the "Heavily Peated" range, where the peat level exceeds 80 ppm (parts per million), making it particularly smoky, ideal for fans of peaty whiskies like those from Islay.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated - Batch #10 is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky, without an age statement, aged in a mix of 90% ex-bourbon casks and 10% ex-sherry casks before being bottled at 57.6% ABV, non-chill filtered and at its natural color.
Note: Purchase is limited to one bottle per customer.

Nose: The introduction is quite sweet and clean, likely due to the predominance of bourbon casks, with a generous dose of peat, crème brûlée, powdered sugar, coconut, banana, and a slight hint of honey and sea breeze.
Taste: Full-bodied, the peat smoke greets you on the palate as well, alongside honey, mango, banana, lemon zest, and caramel, with hints of charred grass and spiced oak.
Finish: Good length, sweet but more spicy, notes of black pepper, ginger, then ash, honey, orange, and peat smoke with charred notes.
