The “triskelion,” or “triscele” in Italian, is an ancient symbol composed of three arms extending from a central point. These arms can take various forms, such as three bent legs, three spirals, or three points, depending on the culture in which the symbol is used. It has been employed by various ancient civilizations and cultures, including the Celts, Greeks, Romans, and prehistoric peoples. The triscele can represent concepts such as the triple nature of the universe (earth, water, air or birth, life, death) or symbolize cyclic movement, like the flow of time or seasonal cycles. In our case, it is a Gaelic symbol that also represents Kilchoman's logo and, in this specific case, the selection of 3 different types of casks.
The Kilchoman Triskele Casks Italian Exclusive is a peated single malt Scotch whisky aged in 3 different types of casks: 75% ex-bourbon, 20% STR (red wine), and 5% ex-sherry Oloroso. This whisky was bottled at the end of 2023 at 48.3% ABV, maintaining its natural color and without chill filtration, in a total of 1,260 bottles.
