Machir Bay is a picturesque sandy beach on the island of Islay that directly overlooks the Kilchoman church. The Kilchoman Machir Bay has matured for 5 and a half years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and for the next 6 months in ex-sherry Oloroso casks, totaling 6 years of aging. The combination of casks used gives this single malt a good complexity, with a mix of sweetness, tropical fruit, peaty smoke, and vanilla.
