Winter winds on Orkney can reach extreme speeds, sometimes up to 160 km/h. This means the islands—along with the moorlands and peat—are treeless but rich in fragrant heather, which, when burned with the peat, creates the signature Highland Park smokiness.
The Highland Park 16 Years Old Wings of the Eagle is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky, matured for at least 16 years in a combination of European and American oak ex-sherry casks, and bottled at 44.5% ABV as a limited edition.
