Forgue is a small valley in Aberdeenshire where James Allardice, in 1826, built the Glendronach distillery. Today, Glendronach is famous for its aging in sherry casks, which is quite unique, considering that only in 2005, when the distillery was acquired by Pernod Ricard, all aging was moved to ex-bourbon casks. Fortunately, in 2008, the distillery was sold by Pernod Ricard and the new owners restored aging in ex-sherry casks.
The GlenDronach 10 Years Old The Forgue is a single malt Scotch whisky aged for at least 10 years in a mix of ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, before being bottled at a classic 43% ABV in its natural color and without being cold-filtered.
