Glenburgie distillery is one of Speyside’s lesser-known gems, yet it boasts a long history. It was already operational in 1810, founded by William Paul under the name Kilnflat, but it became “officially” operational only in 1829. It closed in 1870 and was later reopened in 1878 by Charles Hay under its current name.
The Glenburgie 14 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky aged for 14 years exclusively in a single ex-bourbon hogshead cask before being bottled in 2024 at its natural strength of 53.9% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with no added color, in a total of 285 bottles.

Palate: Rich and enveloping, with notes of malted barley, butter, and milk caramel, followed by a fruity layer of pineapple, banana, and citrus, with a delicate hint of rosewater. The sweetness is dominated by almond paste, honey, and buttery biscuits, while light herbal nuances provide balance.
Finish: Medium in length, with notes of honey, vanilla, and ripe peach. A subtle touch of mint lingers on the close.
