Acquired in 2017 by Billy Walker, GlenAllachie, after its renovation, began releasing its new and unique core range. Unlike in the past, when almost all the single malt produced was destined for blends, with Billy Walker’s arrival, the situation changed, and now almost the entire production is available as single malt.
The GlenAllachie 10 Years Old Cask Strength is batch number 3. This whisky has been aged for at least 10 years in a mix of first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, Pedro Ximénez ex-sherry casks, Oloroso ex-sherry casks, and virgin oak. Finally, it is bottled at its natural strength (54.8% ABV) with no added coloring and unchill-filtered in a total of 12,000 bottles.
