The distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, about 5 km south of Elgin, on the road to Rothes. Glen Elgin was the last distillery to be built during the whisky boom of the 1890s. Designed by Charles Doig, it was the final addition to the Speyside region for over 50 years, until Tormore was constructed in 1958.
The Glen Elgin 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2012. It was primarily matured in ex-bourbon casks before receiving a finishing touch in first-fill ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, this release is non-chill-filtered and free of added color, with only 1,705 bottles available.
