The Red Cask Company series by Global Whisky bases all its releases on total or partial maturation in ex-sherry casks. The idea behind these releases is to create single malts with a "sherried" profile without creating excesses that could alter the essence of the distillate.
The Dailuaine 13 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled on May 6, 2009, and matured almost exclusively in a single ex-sherry Oloroso hogshead (#307383) of first use before being bottled at its natural strength (53.9% ABV), unchill-filtered and with its natural color, in a total of 292 bottles.
