Cihuatán Alux is a rum created as a tribute to the Aluxes, the Guardian Gods of the land in Maya legend. These gods dwelled in the fields of corn and cacao, which were considered the most sacred gifts of nature. At the beginning of each harvest, the Maya celebrated with an abundant feast of chocolate and corn delicacies, expressing their gratitude to the Aluxes.
Cihuatán Alux 15 Years Old is a rum made from sugarcane molasses, distilled using a column still, and aged for at least 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in ex-sherry and ex-cognac barrels before being bottled at 43.2% ABV, with a total of 12,589 bottles.
