1824 was a significant year in the history of Scotch whisky. Distillation was lifted from the shadows of illegality, and many famous names emerged. Among them were not only The Glenlivet Distillery but also Cardhu Distillery, initially known as Cardow. Just like The Glenlivet, Cardhu Distillery is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year (2024) and has released a commemorative bottle.
The Cardhu 12 Years Old – 200th Distillery Anniversary features beautiful packaging. The box and label depict a woman waving a red flag, honoring the pioneering women of Cardhu, Helen Cumming and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth.
Cardhu 12 Years Old – 200th Distillery Anniversary is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky aged for at least 12 years exclusively in casks that previously held wine, before being bottled at a classic 40% ABV.
