The picturesque town of Pitlochry, in central Perthshire, is located on the banks of the River Tay and has had a working distillery since 1798. This makes Blair Athol one of the oldest sites for legal whisky production in Scotland.
The “Benchmark” series by Murray McDavid is created specifically for enthusiasts, offering classic, no-frills aging where the malt takes center stage.
The Blair Athol 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2008 and aged for approximately 12 years in ex-bourbon hogshead barrels before being finished for several months in first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry casks. This whisky is bottled at 46% ABV, with no added coloring and non-chill filtered, in a total of 771 bottles.
