Benrinnes 1997 19 Years Old - Claxton’s Single Malt
A cask-strength Benrinnes with a full 19 years of aging is incredibly hard to come by, but it seems that Claxton’s enjoys a challenge—and we couldn't be happier about it.

One of Benrinnes Distillery’s unique features was its use of a “partial third distillation.” Essentially, the feints from the first distillation (low wines) were divided into weak and strong fractions. The weak fraction was redistilled in the wash still and split again, while the strong fraction was mixed with the heart of the wash still distillation before moving on to the spirit still. This complex method, used by Benrinnes until the early 2000s, contributed to its signature meaty and sulfuric character.
The Benrinnes 19 Years Old 1997 is a Single Malt Scotch whisky distilled using the old partial triple distillation method. This whisky was aged for 19 years in a single ex-bourbon hogshead before being bottled at cask strength (51.5%) in just 232 bottles, without chill filtration or added color.
