The Ben Nevis distillery is located at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom, in the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1825 by 'Long' John MacDonald, the distillery has a long history of whisky production. Over the years, it has changed ownership several times, with its most recent and current owner being the Japanese company Nikka Whisky.
The Ben Nevis 26 Years Old by Claxton’s is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky distilled on May 22, 1997, and aged for an impressive 26 years in a single ex-bourbon hogshead (C23081) before being bottled in 2023 at its natural strength (47.1%), with no added color and non-chill filtered, yielding only 222 bottles.
