Scotland, the southern coast of Islay—this wild land, once a hotspot for illicit distilleries and smugglers, is home to Ardbeg.
The name “wee” in Scottish means “small,” and when paired with “beastie,” it translates to “little beast.” This release, now part of the distillery’s core range, is the youngest Ardbeg and the one with the most intense peaty notes.
The Ardbeg 5 Years Old Wee Beastie is a highly peated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for at least five years in a mix of ex-Oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at 47.5% ABV without chill filtration or added color.

Aroma: As expected, the nose is greeted with peat smoke, cold ash, and pine resin, followed by vanilla, grilled pineapple, and fresh grass, with hints of honey.
Taste: Despite its young age, it is rich and full-bodied, with notes of black pepper, phenolic compounds, tar, and ash, followed unexpectedly by chocolate and anise, ending with hints of BBQ meat.
Finish: Of good persistence, warm and spicy, with lingering smoke intertwined with chocolate, a touch of vanilla, and salted meat—then more smoke.
