Annandale Distillery is located in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It has a fascinating history, originally founded in 1836 by George Donald and operating for several decades. In 1883, it was purchased by John Walker & Sons (the company behind Johnnie Walker, now Diageo), which used it to supply whisky for its blends. However, production ceased in 1918, and the distillery was later converted into a farm. After years of inactivity, Dr. David Thomson and his partner Teresa Church acquired the distillery in 2007, undertaking a significant restoration project. In 2014, Annandale resumed distillation.
The Annandale 8 Years Old is a peated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for eight years in a single first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry cask before being bottled at its natural strength (51.6% ABV), unchill-filtered, and with no added color. Limited to 622 bottles.
